From Inverness - Scenic Route

Travel down the A9 then 12 miles south of Dalwhinnie at Dalnacardoch there is a small turning to the right to Trinafour. Turn right there & follow the road for 5 miles over the hill which will take you to Trinafour where you turn right at the T junction onto the B847 marked to Kinloch Rannoch & Tummel Bridge. Then follow the signs to Kinloch Rannoch which is about another 7 miles. In Kinloch Rannoch follow the road round to the right to Rannoch Station which is the B846. This will take you up the north side of Loch Rannoch. Dunan is 13 miles from Kinloch Rannoch, 2 miles west of the west end of Loch Rannoch & 3 miles short of Rannoch Station. You will see Dunan across the fields about 1/2 mile before you get there, it is a white house on the left of the road.

From Inverness Other Route.

Again travel south down the A9 past Dalwhinnie & past the Trinafour turn, then after another 4 miles there is a turn to the right to Calvine & Struan onto the B8079. Then after 300 yards turn right to Kinloch Rannoch & Tummel Bridge on the A847. From there follow the signs to Kinloch Rannoch which is about 14 miles and up to Dunan as described above. It takes nearly 1 hour to drive from Calvine to Dunan.

From Edinburgh

Follow the M90 north to Perth where you follow the signs to Inverness up the A9. Drive past Dunkeld, Pitlochry & Blair Atholl. Then about 1 mile north of the House of Bruar ( large shop on the right) up a long straight hill there is a turning to the left to Calvine & Struan. Turn left then after 300 yards turn right again to Kinloch Rannoch & Tummel Bridge from where you follow the road to Dunan as described before.

From Glasgow

Take the M80/A80 north past Stirling & Perth taking the A9 to Inverness. Thereafter taking the same route as Edinburgh.

From Glasgow Scenic Route

Again take the M80/A80 past Stirling - Then 5 miles north of Dunblane turn left onto the A822 to Greenloaning and Crieff. Follow this road through Greenloaning, Braco, Muthill, and onto Crieff where you follow the main road into the town and most of the way up a hill and then turn right onto A85 to Aberfeldy & Perth. After 2 miles along this road you come to Gilmerton where you turn left onto the A822. After 14 miles you turn left to Aberfeldy on the A826. Aberfeldy is another 9 miles. In Aberfeldy drive straight through & over the bridge over the river Tay. After about 1/2 mile you follow the road to the left to Weem which you go through and onto Coshieville( 5miles from Aberfeldy) where you go straight on up the B846. After a further 4 miles turn left which is signed the Schiehallion Road. Follow that road on into Kinloch Rannoch where you go past the Country Stores over the bridge & turn left for Rannoch Station. From here you follow the route as descibed before. In miles this route is about 15 miles shorter & a lovely drive.

From Aberdeen.

Take the A 93 all the way to Bairgowrie where you turn right onto the A923 to Dunkeld which takes you to the A9 where you turn right & travel north past Pitlochry & Blair Atholl turning left for Calvine & Struan 1 mile past the House of Bruar. After 300yards you turn right to Kinloch Rannoch & Tummel & follow the instructions as descibed before.
